Letter From the Principal

Dear Mountain Schools Community,

I hope this letter finds each and every one of you refreshed and rejuvenated after a wonderful Winter Break. It's always a joy to witness our students return with bright smiles and eager spirits. As we step into the new year of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to remind our parents about a few key aspects that contribute to the success and well-being of our students.

Dress Warmly for Outdoor Recess:

With the colder weather upon us, it's essential that students come to school equipped with warm clothes. This ensures their safety and comfort when enjoying outdoor recess. We believe that a bit of fresh air and physical activity contribute significantly to a positive and productive learning environment.

Active Parental Involvement in Academics:

Academic success is a collaborative effort, and we encourage all parents to actively participate in their child's education. Your involvement as partners in your child's academic journey is crucial for their growth. Whether it's helping with homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, or staying informed about your child's progress, your support makes a significant impact.

Prioritize Good Attendance:

Regular school attendance is fundamental to academic achievement. We aim for all students to attend school every day unless they are unwell. Consistent attendance not only fosters a sense of routine but also ensures that students don't miss out on valuable classroom instruction. If your child is sick, please prioritize their health and keep them home to recover.

Open Communication Channels:

Your thoughts and concerns matter to us. If you ever have questions or if there's something on your mind, don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or myself. We are here to support every student and family in our community. Strong communication between school and home is vital for the success and well-being of our students.

As we embark on the journey of 2024, let's work together to make it a year of growth, learning, and achievement for each and every student. Your commitment to your child's education is truly appreciated, and we look forward to another fantastic year at Mountain Schools.

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the new year!

Warm regards,

Principal Schachet

This Month in the Mountain Schools

Winter weather

Communications change quickly during a snow day decision. Sometimes we may choose to act differently than the rest of PSD or we might follow the districts decision. Please check the communications carefully for details about snow days/remote snow days/ or late starts. If you have questions or confusion, please check with your school for details.

Report Cards

Report cards for the first semester will be available on ParentVue by 4 PM on January 12th

Illness

Reminder that there are multiple illnesses going around including Covid19, RSV, and the flu. Many of these have similar symptoms. Thank you for keeping sick students home!

Counselors Corner

Ms. Kress is teaching all our students the value of honesty this month. We are handing out Mountain Moolah and looking for students who model honesty.

Upcoming Events

Healthy Hearts and Minds with UC Health will be presenting educational heart health programs at each of our Mountain Schools this month for the 4th and 5th grade students. See your school calendar for specific dates. Each student will have an opportunity to participate in a free health screening. More information can be found at uchealth.org/healthyhearts
